Unfortunately, she doesn’t perform on command. However, you have to admit, that’s pretty darn cool. After 15.5 months, K is finally considering…hmmm… well, maybe we’ll give this walking thing a try.
I’ve written before about K’s Early Intervention adventures, but I really have to tell you – I’m so glad she’s been seeing a physical therapist. The progress was amazing. When she first started, she couldn’t (or wouldn’t) stand from a sitting position unless she pulled herself up on something. Within one week, she was doing it. The next week, she would take one-to-two steps while only holding one hand. The week after that, she took 6-7 steps only holding one hand. After that, she walked halfway down the hall holding one hand.
And this past week, Rochelle, K’s physical therapist, told us that she took 1-2 steps by herself. The next day? Daycare called to tell us that she had taken five steps. Later that day she took seven.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t perform on command, so we’ve only seen her take 1-2 steps, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.

(P.S. While daycare wasn’t able to get pictures of the actual stepping, they did put together this little book for us – wasn’t that nice?)
